The Principle Analyst, Information Security will be responsible for reviewing and assessing DIACAP (DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process) packages including DIACAP (System Identification Profiles, DIPs (DIACAP Implementation Plans), Scorecards, POA&Ms,Primary Artifacts, and IA (Information Assurance) Controls.
As a Principle Analyst, Information Security , he/she will assess risks, identify mitigation requirements and develop accreditation recommendations for the MDA Designated Approving Authority (DAA) signature. They will be responsible for tracking Certification and Accreditation requirements for assigned systems within the agency as well as be responsible for; designing and coordinating the MDA IA Certification and training program for the MDA workforce, participating in the DOD working groups for IA Certification as well as tracking and monitoring annual IA training and workforce certification compliance requirements IAW DOD. They will work directly with MDA Systems Information Assurance Managers (IAMs) and Program Managers, when necessary. And will coordinate, write and edit Information Assurance related documentation such as internal (agency) policy memoranda, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), briefings and decision papers, as required. They will review and coordinate the implementation of DoD policies and procedures concerning Information Assurance. They will be actively involved in staying abreast of and informing the agency of the current government directives, instructions, guidance or policies regarding or impacting Information Assurance.


This position requires a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field and 10-15 years of experience or the combination of education and work experience. Professional certification in Information Assurance is required within 6 months of hire, if not already certified, as a CISSP, CISM or GSLC.

Must be an effective writer and communicator who can interface with all MDA personnel, field and other government activities. Knowledge of DoDI 8500.2 "Information Assurance Implementation", DoDD 8500.1 "Information Assurance" and DoDI 5200.40 "DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process" and with the interim guidance for DoD 8510, "DoD IA Certification and Accreditation Process" (DIACAP). Knowledge of MDA is a plus..

This position also requires an active secret security clearance. If the candidate does not have one, the candidate must be able to to apply for and be granted an interim secret clearance before being able to set a start date.
